Hurstbridge Heritage Trail - Nillumbik
Hurstbridge is a picturesque little township with a population of approximately 3500, located 30km to the NE of Melbourne, at the junction of the Diamond and Arthurs Creeks. Running alongside Diamond Creek is an open public space with ponds, wetlands, paths and picnic facilities called Fergusons Paddock. Hurstbridge has retained a ‘rural village’ atmosphere and enjoys a strong sense of community.
The Heritage Trail comprises 29 sites of historical significance to form the first formal heritage trail in Nillumbik. Each site has an information sign, many with great old photos.
The process of pulling together this trail has brought joy to many and reinforced a sense of town pride. You are invited to follow in the footsteps of those who have contributed to our history and imagine their lives. There’s no real start or finish, just pick up the trail where you fancy and enjoy the town of Hurstbridge.
